Well, so this was a pretty hectic week. They finally kicked me out of Chota. Last week I was transferred here to Trujillo, to open a new area and to train a new missionary. I’m here in “Los Cedros” in the “Central” Zone. It’s a way cool area and a very strong ward with about 200 members attending regularly. Everything is very organized and established here. It’s just a little bit different then Chota, LOL. Nah, but it’s way cool here and I love it. It’s got some really nice and fancy areas and it’s got some “mas o menos” areas as well. The good thing is that my pensionista, Hermana Balvina is just amazing. So I’m stoked for that–she totally spoils us with great meals.

So my new companion is way cool. His name is Elder Miessner. He’s 20 years old and is from Georgia. He only has about five days in the mission field but he already speaks Spanish very well… so I’m stoked, hahaha, That helps a bit. But he’s way cool and we get along. I kind of feel bad for him because he has to be trained by me in an area that I don’t know. Yeah, the first day was kind of rough because I have never been anywhere in Trujillo before and I didn’t know the area or any of the investigators or members. We got lost like 20 times but it’s getting better each day. In the end it’s way fun and Heavenly Father put us here for a reason, so I can’t complain.

Oh yeah, also, I got put as District Leader. I mean I haven’t been to a district meeting in about six months because I was so far away from everyone up in Chota, but it will be cool to have the opportunity to lead them now. Lots of new stuff going on with this change.

As far as this week, it has been one of the most stressful / hardest weeks of my mission but at the same time one of the best and most miraculous weeks I’ve had in my whole time here. There are so many chosen and prepared people here. We were able to work a lot with this rad 18 year old kid this week and really just see him get excited about the Gospel and for his Baptism. (When we aren’t teaching him, he is out accompanying us to visit other investigators or less active members. Way cool!) We were able to be led to find people who have been prepared by the Lord so much. People who just have a gift to recognize the spirit and who have the courage to follow it. So many cool things going on right now. It’s hard but like the best thing ever!

I love the mission so much, but yeah I miss you guys a lot. The mission is the best. Slade, Jed, Rook, Hudson and Mavrick get ready now!

Elder Turner
